Asbestos Removal
Action Demolition & Asbestos Removal Pty Ltd hold a Class 2 licence with Safework NSW which allows us to remove non-friable (bonded) asbestos.

If your house was built or renovated before 1987, it is likely to contain asbestos. If you are unsure, please do not risk your health and that of your neighbours and family - contact a licenced asbestos removalist. Asbestos can found in the following areas (and lots of other areas too):
-
Backing board of the electrical meter box
-
Eaves
-
Linoleum
-
Bathroom walls
-
Ceiling and walls
-
Rooves – Super 6 sheeting and also some shingles are asbestos
-
Sheds and garages
-
Sheeting not marked as free of asbestos or dated after 1987.
If unsure a small piece can be taken to a NATA certified laboratory and they will test the sample to see if it is asbestos.
Did you know ... it is illegal for anyone to remove asbestos sheeting if the area is >10m² unless they are licensed to do so.
For removal works of more than 10m² a licenced Asbestos Removalist must be engaged. Safework NSW must be notified 5 days prior to works commencing and your neighbours are also notified that asbestos removal will be taking place on the specified date.
A clearance inspection is also required by an independent person who is qualified in Asbestos Assessing at the completion of all asbestos removal work >10m². After inspection on completion of asbestos removal works, a qualified Assessor will inspect the areas where removal took place. If the area is deemed to be clear of all asbestos pieces, then the Inspector will issue a Clearance Inspection Certificate, copy of which is provided to the property owner or builder who engaged us to remove the asbestos.
Asbestos waste is packed and wrapped on the premises for small areas removed or the sheets are placed directly into the truck which is lined with 200µm plastic and at the end of the removal works, the disposable coveralls, masks, gloves etc worn by the Removalists are also placed into the asbestos waste ready for transport to an authorised waste disposal site. The load is sealed tight with duct tape to avoid any release of fibres into the air on its journey to the tip. The EPA would have been notified by us that the load is on its way and it is monitored by them until it reaches its destination. This procedure is to ensure that asbestos waste is disposed of in a safe and secure manner.
Feel safe in knowing that Action Demolition & Asbestos Removal Pty Ltd will remove any asbestos from your property in a safe manner following all guidelines set by Safework NSW and any other Authority. The safety of our staff and the public is our top priority.
